Poon Choi of Family Feast

Boss Electric Spring Festival Microfilm

It has been four years in a row that Boss Electric's heavyweight IP, Family Feast, is here! What kind of surprises will Boss Electric and the 180 Shanghai team bring us this year with the "Poon Choi of Family Feast"?

It all starts with a "family dinner".

Many people say that they can no longer eat the old flavors of the past at New Year's Eve; perhaps it is not the disappearance of New Year's flavors or the change in young people's tastes, but rather the fact that time rushes by and family members are not always young. Many classic and complicated, time-consuming and laborious New Year's dishes have become increasingly extravagant in the face of the years, slowly disappearing from the table at the New Year's Eve dinner...

Chinese New Year family feast is the highest level of ceremony for every Chinese family, and every classic dish on the table of New Year's Eve dinner is the inheritance of love, which should not be lost in the passage of time. Perhaps this is the original intention of Boss Appliance to create the New Year's IP "Family Feast".

The Chinese Story in Poon Choi

The Chinese believe that "food is the most important thing in life", and the significance of being together has long exceeded the meal itself. Chinese people are not good at expressing affection, and the understanding and care between family members begins with the daily details of meals and dishes at the dinner table. It can be said that the Chinese table collects the most stories of a family.

Remember that dish you grew up eating? As you grow older and your parents get older, has this dish disappeared from your family's table? Is it like starting a memory floodgate every time you taste it?

In the movie, the dish on the table of Lao Chen's family, which carries more than 30 years of memories, is "Poon Choi".

The movie is set in a family in Guangdong, and the choice of the main dish for this family feast is a clever choice of Cantonese Poon Choi, which combines the richness of ingredients with the diversity of cooking techniques. The Cantonese food culture itself has enough room to be scrutinized.

A love you can't talk about.

The movie portrays a chef father. Before his retirement, the father was busy all day in the back kitchen, playing overtime to carry all the family. After being forced to retire from 40 years in the kitchen due to a back injury, parent-child conflicts in his own kitchen darken. He realizes that the family doesn't need him anymore.

The pair of children in the movie have conflicting feelings towards their father. On one hand, they have a grudge against the lack of fatherly love during their growing up, but on the other hand, they also feel sorry for their father's back problems due to the long years of cooking. Because of the long-term lack of communication, the son chooses the most drastic method, by locking the kitchen to prohibit his father from cooking.

After the retirement of the father lost the kitchen position, stubbornly love all burned in the dishes, secretly send food to the granddaughter, obsessively to work overtime entertainment son left "takeout", no matter what way, as long as the children eat their own dishes, it is enough.

Boss Electric and 180 Shanghai team together with director Taylor to create this micro-film, close to the real texture of life and smooth, there into the bottom of the numbness of life's cold and cool, but also the performance of fireworks and the city's lively and joyful, can be described as "the details of the see the real chapter", a lot of clever metaphors have been cleverly set up! Many subtle metaphors are skillfully set up in the movie.

The "big fire" in the back kitchen, the "blue gentle fire" in the new kitchen. If cooking is the only way for Chen to express his emotions, then fire is the original source of his emotions. Whether it is a gentle fire or a big fire, a flame or a dying fire, it all changes according to the emotion.

The "shrimp with its back arched" symbolizes Lao Chen's back problem, and the "confronting lobster" symbolizes the antagonism between father and son, which are cinematic details that add to the texture of the film.

At the end of the movie, the New Year's Eve dinner on the 30th of New Year's Day, Lao Chen accepted the love of his children in a big way, as long as the family "and", he burned this wish in the dishes, heavy, steaming hot, served the pot of potted vegetables that he longed for.

What is more valuable is that the whole movie does not force the implantation of products, and the role of the "helper" of Boss Electrical Appliances products is presented in the form of color eggs. This leaves the audience with a very good viewing experience.

Boss Electric also cooperated with Intercontinental Group's Chai Fung Lau to launch the New Year's Family Feast Poon Choi Gift Box, giving the majority of netizens who supported the movie the opportunity to enjoy Poon Choi with their families and welcome the New Year's good fortune of a full pot and a happy reunion.

Families will eventually meet at the dinner table, even if they are from different parts of the world.

The world is no bigger than a meal, a soup and a pot of food.

The so-called "Poon Choi" means "a family, a pot of food, a table of harmony and reunion".
